After he wrote The CowBoy Handbook in 1994, Bruce Dillman set out to promote the book.  Rather than read a few
chapters, he got out his guitar and trick ropes and put on a CowBoy Show.  Now he regularly performs at certain Western events.  He also does events which may not be considered Western until he shows up.
